The NIAAA is one of the largest alcoholism research funders in the world. With over 27 centers and institutes for alcohol abuse and alcoholism. Their mission is to improve the health and well-being of all people by better understanding all aspects of alcoholism through scientific research and collaborating with other institutes, organizations and programs that are also involved in fields related to alcohol.
A non-profit site that was developed in memory of a young woman who struggled with a condition and finally committed suicide when she could no longer cope. Their mission is to help those struggling with various conditions, addictions, etc. in hopes of preventing other such incidents by offering various emotional support, guides and tools.
#3 Department of Health and Human Services
They have a wealth of information about various support centers, helplines and shelters across the USA for recovering addicts and those affected by the addiction.They have a large network of social services and can steer you in the right direction depending on your addiction, location and or circumstances.
